These national record disposition schedules govern most judiciary records, including those that federal courts create and maintain in electronic or paper case files.

Records Disposition Schedule 1 - This document covers records of the courts of appeals, the former Court of Customs and Patent Appeals, the former Temporary Emergency Court of Appeals, circuit judicial councils, bankruptcy appellate panels, and circuit judicial conferences.

Records Disposition Schedule 2 - This document covers records of the U.S. district courts, bankruptcy courts, territorial district courts, Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation, U.S. Court of International Trade, and the Special Court, Regional Rail Reorganization Act of 1973.
