Appropriations On Hold Until March 2009

Congress passed and the President has signed a Continuing Resolution (CR) to keep government funded and running through March 6, 2009. Congress did not finish work on the majority of appropriations bills before the fiscal year ended on September 30, 2008. The CR will fund agencies, including the Judiciary, at FY 2008 levels until March. Congress intends to work with the new Administration beginning in January to complete action on remaining appropriations bills as quickly as possible.
