Resolution Recognizes FJC Director Rothstein's Leadership
The Judicial Conference recognized with “appreciation, admiration and respect,” Judge Barbara J. Rothstein, who has served as Director of the Federal Judicial Center since 2003.
“Under Judge Rothstein’s leadership,” the Conference resolution noted, “the Federal Judicial Center has maintained the excellence of its research and educational services for the federal courts and assisted the courts in dealing with challenges ranging from case management to cost containment. . . [Judge Rothstein] has fostered closer coordination with the Administrative Office, the U. S. Sentencing Commission, and other judicial agencies. Through her tireless efforts, she ensured that the Center’s programs and projects were responsive to the most pressing needs of the Judiciary and promoted excellence in the courts.
“Beyond the many achievements of the Center during her tenure, Judge Rothstein will be remembered for her boundless energy, her warm personality, and her ability to work harmoniously with others no matter how difficult the issue. Her deep respect for and dedication to the judicial branch was evident in all of her endeavors.”
