This section provides statistical profiles for each of the 12 U.S. courts of appeals and 94 U.S. district courts–plus national totals for the appellate and district courts–for the fiscal year ending September 30.

The tables present data based on the number of authorized judgeships and provide rankings among the appellate courts and among the district courts.
They compare current fiscal year data to data for the previous five fiscal years. Publications dating back to 1997 are available online.
