The Role of Probation and Parole Officers in the Collaborative Response to Sex Offenders

In June 2007, the American Probation and Parole Association was awarded a cooperative agreement from the National Institute of Corrections to develop a curriculum for training community corrections professionals on how to deal with low-level/low-risk sex offenders from a collaborative framework. The authors provide an introduction to the collaborative response to sex offenders, with an emphasis on the role of probation and parole officials.
