Abstract:

While women in prison remain a small minority of the prison population, their number is increasing, largely due to drug-related offenses. The authors evaluate through focus group discussions a women-focused treatment program implementing curricula based on relational theory to determine its relative effectiveness compared to a standard prison therapeutic community (TOC) program.
