Judiciary Celebrates the Work of Probation and Pretrial Services Offices
July 20, 2010
The American Probation and Parole Association has designated July 18-24 as Probation, Parole, and Community Service Week. The Federal Judiciary is taking the occasion to celebrate the work of the thousands of men and women who comprise its probation and pretrial services staff.
Federal probation and pretrial services offices nationwide work to make the criminal justice system effective, and the public safe. The system’s mission reflects its dedication to serve the community, the courts, and the people who come before the courts.
The Probation and Pretrial Services Charter of Excellence states that the entire federal system facilitates “the fair administration of justice and provide(s) continuity of services throughout the judicial process.”
