Effects of Hurricane Gustav Continue to Close Several Federal Courts

Several federal courts remain closed today, and some for the remainder of the week, due to the effects of Hurricane Gustav.

In New Orleans, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit will remain closed through Friday, September 5th, with the court reopening for business on September 8, 2008. Also in New Orleans, the courthouse for the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana and the Hale Boggs Federal Building, which houses the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, tentatively plan to reopen on September 8th.

Operations of the federal courts in other districts continue to be effected. The list below includes links to each of the courts which remained closed Wednesday, September 3, 2008.
