Hurricane Gustav Closes Multiple Federal Court Locations

Federal courts in three southern states are closed due to the effects of Hurricane Gustav.

Three federal courthouses in New Orleans had to be evacuated, including the John Minor Wisdom U.S. Courthouse, the primary home of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Also closed in New Orleans is the courthouse that is home to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana and the Hale Boggs Federal Building, which houses the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.

Operations of the federal courts in several other districts have also been effected. The list below includes links to each of the courts closed Tuesday, September 2, 2008.
