Federal Defender Program Offices Sustain Tornado Damage

A tornado that hit downtown Atlanta the night of March 14, 2008, caused major damages to offices of the federal defender program for the Northern District of Georgia.

Located on two floors of a 33-story building, the offices sustained collapsed walls, and blown-out windows. Furniture was overturned, and broken glass and papers were scattered throughout. There were no injuries to staff members or others.

The federal defender program’s operations will continue as clean-up and repair of the damages progresses.
