Enlivening Court Literacy with Real-Life Experiences

Watch a video about the Open Doors to Federal Courts program.

The materials posted here deal with current issues and are ready for immediate classroom use. They also can be used for a field trip to the local federal courthouse. Courthouse events for high school seniors have the following distinguishing characteristics: They are participatory, true-to-life courtroom simulations; they are hosted by a federal judge and other legal professionals; they include all students as jurors and lawyers; and they are based on recent Supreme Court cases that have an impact on young people. For more information, e-mail Rebecca Fanning, National Outreach Manager.
