Chief judges of the U.S. district courts were in Washington, D.C. in April for the Federal Judicial Center’s annual conference for chief judges. U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder stopped by for a “get acquainted” meeting with the judges. The two-day program included updates on Judicial Conference recommendations, legislation affecting the Judiciary, the Fiscal Year 2009 and 2010 budgets, sentencing, and courthouse construction, among other topics.
