 | Vol. 35, Number 7July 2003 Irving Selected, Hehman Retires Administrative Office Director Leonidas Ralph Mecham has announced the selection of Margaret (Peggy) Irving as the new Chief of the Article III Judges Division. Irving was previously deputy division chief and acting chief. She joined the AO following a 24-year career at the U.S. Department of Justice and the Internal Revenue Service, where she served in a series of increasingly responsible attorney and management positions focusing on government information and privacy issues. The Article III Judges Division includes the Judicial Compensation and Benefits Branch and the Financial Disclosure Office, and also is responsible for the orientation to the AO of new chief judges and the introduction to the federal court system of Article III judgeship nominees. Irving succeeds Mike Dolan, who retired in January. In addition, long-time Judiciary employee John Hehman retired on June 30 to return to his hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio. Hehman served 29 years in the federal Judiciary, first as clerk of court for the Sixth Circuit's Court of Appeals and later as circuit executive for the Third Circuit. For the last nine years, he has been chief of the Appellate Court and Circuit Administration Division (ACCAD).
