Helping reporters better cover the federal courts is the purpose of the new online publication, "A Journalist's Guide to the Federal Courts," produced by the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts. The Guide explores the federal appellate, district, and bankruptcy courts, and identifies key players, types of court information and their sources, along with the various stages of an appeal, and of a civil, criminal, and bankruptcy case. An extensive glossary defines procedures, legal terms, and jargon reporters may encounter when writing about the courts. The Guide is available on the Judiciary's website at www.uscourts.gov/journalistguide/toc.html.
