Hinojosa Nominated to Chair U.S.S.C.

imageJudge Ricardo H. Hinojosa (S. D. Tex.) has been nominated by the President to chair the U.S. Sentencing Commission, following the resignation of Judge Diana E. Murphy (8th Cir.) from the position on January 31, 2004. Hinojosa became a member of the Sentencing Commission last year. The Sentencing Commission consists of seven voting members who are appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate. No more than three of the commissioners may be federal judges and no more than four may belong to the same political party.
