The Trials and Tribulations of Implementing What Works: Training Rarely Trumps Values

Volume 77 Number 2
Date:
September 2013
Abstract:

The authors argue that the success of evidence-based practices is dependant on a range of factors beyond the scope of the research, process, principles, and tenets of the EBPs themselves. Too little attention is paid to implementation; the skills, competencies, and passions of community corrections professionals; organizational factors and issues; and values essential to successful community corrections.
