‘Flagship’ Office Saves Money, Improves Work Environment

An innovative Chicago probation office, described as a federal Judiciary “flagship” in efficient, economical space design, is the subject of a newly released U.S. Courts video.

The office, formally unveiled at an April 15 ribbon-cutting, costs nearly $1.5 million less each year in rent than space previously leased by the Northern District of Illinois. The video shows how technology, mobility and an open floor design have transformed the staff’s working environment.

The Judiciary is in the middle of a five-year national campaign to cut building space and rent costs. Learn more about the Chicago project.
