September 11th and the Crisis Response for the Federal Courts

Abstract: 

In the wake of the terrorist attacks on September 11, the author was one of a team of crisis intervention specialists who traveled to New York to assist the federal court in the 2nd district in coming to terms with this unprecedented experience. The author explains the theory and practice of the Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) crisis intervention model, and offers suggestions for managers preparing future crisis responses.
