Abstract:
The author discusses evaluation as fundamentally an ethical enterprise: an effort to distinguish right from wrong, good from bad, and degrees of goodness and badness. She posits that while evaluation can be valuable, it does not necessarily mean that it will be valuable in particular situations or that it will answer particular questions.
