Transfer of Excess Judiciary Personal Property

Federal, state, and local government entities can use the Judiciary Excess Disposal System to search for excess personal property available for transfer and reported by the federal Judiciary.

Search the Judiciary Excess Disposal System to search for excess personal property. Item availability is determined by internal Judiciary policy which dictates the following disposal cycle:

  1. Redistribution to Judiciary = first 14 days
  2. Transfer to other Federal Agencies = following 21 days
  3. Donate to State and Local Agencies = remaining 14 days

Who can report and transfer excess personal property:

  1. Any Court Unit within the Judiciary
  2. Federal Public Defender (FPD)

Who can search, request, and obtain excess personal property:

  1. Any Court Unit within the Judiciary
  2. Federal Public Defender (FPD)
  3. Federal, State, and Local Governmental Entities
