Video: Court Greets New Citizens in Anniversary Ceremony

New American citizens from 24 countries were welcomed by the entire judiciary of the Eastern District of New York, in a special ceremony honoring the 150th anniversary of the court’s first naturalization.

A newly released U.S. Courts video shows citizens receiving the Oath of Allegiance on October 19 in Brooklyn. Jeh Johnson, Department of Homeland Security secretary, and Leon Rodriguez, Director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, participated. Three naturalized federal judges and 16 naturalized court employees also were honored.
