As of September 30, 2013, a total of 350 bankruptcy judgeships were authorized and funded, the same as one year earlier. Of these judgeships, 330 were filled and 20 were vacant (compared to 16 vacant positions on the same date in 2012). In addition to judges in authorized positions, 47 retired bankruptcy judges who had been recalled by various circuits were providing service to the Judiciary at the end of fiscal year 2013.
