Overview of the Position | The U.S. Pretrial Services Office for the Western District of Texas is currently seeking an Operations Clerk in San Antonio, Texas. An Operations Clerk provides specialized administrative and operational support to the Pretrial Services Office in a wide range of areas as well as assisting officers as directed. The incumbent will use critical thinking to accomplish the duties noted below and all other duties as assigned. |

Position Description
- Professionally answers telephones, greets the public, etc.
- Prepares and proofreads investigative and supervision reports for officers before final supervisor review
- Runs criminal records checks
- Coordinates court settings, notifies Pretrial Services Officers of court activities, gathers and organizes all paperwork for court
- Processes collateral requests and conducts credit checks
- Receives and transfers case files from other districts
- Completes correspondence
- Organizes and prepares new case files for officers
- Enters and maintains accurate data and assists in data quality control
- Provides technical assistance and services in support of preparation and disclosure of pretrial reports
- Assists with inventory of office supplies
- Verifies deliveries and invoices with purchase orders and receives supplies
- Maintains postage and/or other various logs
- Receives passports and maintains possession until disposition of case
- Creates and updates Comply Calendar for the District
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Position requires a minimum of three years of clerical or administrative experience that provided direct customer contact on a daily basis. Administrative experience in a civil and/or criminal legal environment preferred.
- Outstanding customer service, communication, and organizational skills are required
- Must have the ability to handle more than one task at a time in a high-volume area and prioritize and manage own workload
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required
- Fluent in Spanish is preferred but not required
