Position Description
The incumbent would support Judge Nominee Guy Castillo by conducting extensive research and writing on a wide range of matters arising in federal litigation. The incumbent also would assist with managing the judge’s caseload and preparing for case-related hearings, conferences, and trials. An initial two-year term of appointment is preferred. The term may be extended for up to two additional years by mutual agreement.
Applicants must be available for a starting date of employment on or shortly after April 13, 2026. The selected applicant will be expected to perform work in our Fresno courthouse, and occasional, limited telework may be authorized by Judge Nominee Guy Castillo. Application materials must consist of material that is the candidate’s own original work and not composed or substantially edited by other individuals or by generative AI tools (such as ChatGPT or Claude).
