Position Description

Representative Duties

  • This position is located in the Clerk’s Office and reports to the Operations Supervisor. The Calendar Unit is responsible for setting the Court’s hearing schedule and for providing judges with necessary case materials.
  • Data entry, responding to requests from judges and attorneys, sending notices to attorneys, monitoring pending motions, assigning cases to calendars, preparing calendar material for panels, and other duties as assigned.
  • The successful candidate will have a steady, professional demeanor, keen attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and enjoy working within a fast paced and diverse team environment.

Qualifications

High School graduation or equivalent, plus two years of progressively responsible legal or federal work experience in the above representative duties and:

  • General knowledge of court procedures, practices, and the Ninth Circuit; proficiency with email, window applications and Adobe Acrobat; ability to work independently or in a team environment; demonstrated, proactive, problem-solving approach; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; strong customer service ethic; and ability to understand and apply established rules and procedures.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
