Overview of the Position The Office of Information Technology for the U.S. District Court, U.S. Probation Office, and U.S. Pretrial Services Office for the Western District of Texas is currently seeking an Inventory Support Technician who will be responsible for receiving stock, unloading and/or unpacking, marking for inventory tracking, stocking shelves, and related activities. This position also handles inventory management to sustain required stock levels at all sites. Work is in a stockroom environment. May involve heavy lifting. Periodic travel within the district is required.

Position Description

  • Receive products from vendor deliveries both internally and externally, to include unloading of delivery trucks
  • Compare packing lists to purchase orders and ensure that the products in each delivery match the packing list
  • Communicate goods delivery receipts to procurement in a timely manner
  • Update inventory as products are received
  • Package products for return to vendors and fill out any RMA paperwork necessary prior to the shipment being picked up
  • Coordinate with procurement on discrepancies and/or delivery contact
  • Ensure accountable assets have asset tracking associated
  • Perform verification of stocking levels district wide, asset verification, and related activities
  • Package, document, and coordinate delivery of stock to other locations in the district as directed
  • Submit purchase requests to management to maintain required stocking levels as directed
  • Assist management through clerical support functions
  • Maintain list of standard equipment models (keyboards, mice, printers, etc.) and research and recommend replacement models when listed standard is end of life
  • Primary responsibility for the verification of excess assets and pick up by disposal vender. This will involve periodic travel to each primary division in the district
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of computer programs for entering data
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, inventory tracking software, label printers, etc.
  • Solid understanding of health and safety regulations
  • Basic math and recording abilities
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently
  • Great communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Keen eye for detail
  • High school diploma
  • Prefer proven experience as receiving clerk or similar position

Physical Requirements:

  • The ability to lift, bend, stoop, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs
  • The ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • The ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time
