Position Description

The law clerk’s primary case assignment will be a multidistrict litigation matter involving antitrust claims. The law clerk will be responsible for conducting advanced legal research and analysis on a variety of legal issues and drafting comprehensive and detailed orders and bench memoranda in this case, keeping the Judge apprised of the status of the case, and communicating with counsel regarding case management. 


To qualify for this position, an individual must be a law school graduate. Preference will also be given to candidates with a minimum of two years of legal work experience or clerkship experience and those who possess excellent legal research and writing skills, and a familiarity with CM/ECF.

General Experience

Legal work experience is progressively responsible experience in the practice of law, in legal research, legal administration, or equivalent experience received after graduation from law school. Major or substantial legal activities while in military service may be credited, on a month-for-month basis whether before or after graduation, but not to exceed one year if before graduation from law school. 


The successful candidate should be a mature, dedicated, responsible, and poised individual who possesses tact, good judgment, initiative, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work well with chambers, counsel, and Clerk’s Office staff. The candidate should be trustworthy and possess the ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
