Position Description
The Architect /Project Manager oversees design, construction, renovation, remodeling, cyclical maintenance, and tenant alteration projects within the circuit and will report to the Assistant Circuit Executive for Space and Facilities. The major responsibilities and duties of this position include:
- Manage space and facilities projects from start to finish.
- Acting as Court of Appeals’ liaison with other courts, government agencies, General Services Administration (GSA), US Marshals, third parties, and contractors. Ensuring court and government policies are followed.
- Extensive travel within the circuit will be required.
- Creating and presenting concept designs for the public, judges, and staff.
- Assisting courts in obtaining project funding from different funding sources.
- Providing design support as needed.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Relevant bachelor’s degree, licensure preferred.
- Significant experience in design and construction, fifteen years preferred.
- Proactive problem solver and consummate team player.
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment and to manage multiple projects at one time.
- Excellent writing and analytical skills.
- Experience using CAD, Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Blue Beam.

Conditions of Employment
Travel for this position is required. The court requires employees to adhere to the Judicial Code of Conduct for Judicial Employees. Employment is provisional pending the successful completion of a ten-year, full field OPM background investigation, and favorable suitability determination. Employees of the court are excepted service appointments. Employees are considered at-will and are not covered by federal civil service classifications or regulations.
